Mountain View is known as the folk music capital of the world. It is home to many world-class musicians.

The town is the home to the Ozark Folk Center and near Blanchard Springs Caverns.

Visitors will want to visit the downtown area to shop for antiques, fine art, musical instruments and crafts. There are many places to eat.

There are also many music venues. Probably the most famous of these is Jimmy Driftwood's, named after a famous folk singer who lived in Mountain Home.
